No matter where I go in México, I always pay a visit to the local mercado.  Not just because I love to eat but because I love learning about all the different produce available in each area. Dried Fruit Treats

If you have a sweet tooth,  next time you’re in a mercado keep an eye out for a display like the one above.  I love to snack on the dried fruits, some of which are sweetened and some are not. The vendor here also sells nuts and various candies like gumdrops (gomitas) and gummy bears. I imagine both of those are made with gelatin, so not vegetarian friendly.
